Solarium True Beachfront Condo in Coronado

s2ag – Panama City, Panama

“As residents of Panama City, we like to take fairly regular short breaks to the each and Coronado is one of our preferred destinations. We have stayed in several of Sarah’s properties and have found her to be very professional and dependable on each occasion. All of them have been clean and well-maintained, which is very important for us.

The apartments at the Solarium have recently been converted from hotel rooms and the changes have been handled well. It seems that the units are being sold to private investors or owners who are then responsible for the decoration, so furniture and fittings vary from one to another. There is direct access to the beach from the pool area.

We stayed in a one bed apartment with living room and large balcony and were very comfortable. The balcony overlooks the large pool area and the ocean and the same view is available from the living room and the bedroom. The kitchen is well equipped and contains surface burners and a large toaster oven. Our personal preference would be for a full sized oven or stove, but that would not be an issue for most people and would not stop us from returning. The apartment also has its own washer/dryer. The pool and grounds are also well maintained, which is not always the case in Panama, and ground staff are cleaning throughout the day.

There are several restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk from the Solarium, as well as a small convenience store for basics. There are three major supermarkets and other stores within a 10 minute drive, a clinic within the Coronado development and various activities in the area.
During the time that we were staying, there were a good mix of retirees and younger families and we heard few complaints. We were very happy with the apartment and it will remain on our short list for future trips. ”

” Stayed here for just over 3 weeks and had a great time. Condo was clean and and well furnished.

The view from the balcony was spectacular and although we were only on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool, it was surprisingly quiet

Bed was extremely comfortable .

My wife needed a hair dryer and since the unit did not have one we called Anne Marie (Sarah’s partner) and she was there shortly with hair dryer in hand.

I would strongly recommend this condo for a couple as it is really only a 1 bedroom.”

“Having recently spent a delightful 2 weeks at Solarium on the beach, we chose to subsequently return for an additional week, following our travels throughtout the rest of Panama. This apartment was essentially a mirror image of our first apartment but three stories higher, giving us a beautiful view over the pool area, the beach area and the Pacific Ocean. The studio apartment was nicely furnished and fully self contained. It is very well set up and comfortable for a couple. It also had private and secure undercover car parking. You also have access to the 24th floor social area with beautiful panoramic views over Coronado and the Pacific Ocean. Good restaurants and a small supermarket within walking distance. The resort development is literally right on the beach and one can walk for miles in either direction. Sarah, Liz and Anne-Marie are all very capable, always cheerful and helpful hosts. Cannot speak more highly of these three capable young ladies. If Panama were not so far from Australia, we would own one of these units.
Highly Recommended.”

“Thank you Sarah, for completing your renovations just in time to meet our needs. What a lovely job you did sprucing up the double condo at the Coronado Bay complex. It is a light and airy vacation rental. Ocean front, 3rd floor provides a stunning view and easy access to the pool and beach. Loved having a washer and dryer, beach towels and consistently good wifi.
King bed was comfy. The bathroom was modern and spacious. Easy 5 minute walk to Luna Rosa for delicious Italian food. What we appreciated most of all was working with Sarah. She is professional, fun and full of energy. In conclusion, a delightful experience!”

Coronado Homes/Casitas

“My husband and I spent 4 nights at Sarah’s Casitas in Coronado. This is a great location just a 1 hour drive from Panama City.   It’s a short walk to the beach and to several restaurants near bye.  Coronado has a great grocery store and other restaurants and stores within town.  The Casitas at Sarah’s are spacious, each with there own bathroom, great shower, good water pressure, each have their own full size kitchen, great air conditioning, cable TV, fantastic Wi-Fi internet and an extremely beautiful backyard with colorful plants, grounds and a wonderful pool that I found myself using often. Sarah’s Casitas are on a residential street that offers a sense of exclusion, away from the crowd with still the conveniences to local markets and restaurants.  Sarah is very knowledgable of Panama, a good host and helped to arrange transportation for us back to the airport.  If you are looking to be a little away from town and have a sense for the Panamanian life style, yet all the conveniences of home, close to town and the beach, I would highly recommend Sarah’s Casitas.”

“Stayed at Sarah’s 4 times now, and she is the best host ever!! From arranging airport pickup and an impeccably clean room and making you feel right at home, to a wealth of knowledge about all the things to do and see in Panama!!  I even got recommendations on other properties I stayed at in other locations!  I have become attached to the charming Tortuga casita and loved having my own kitchen!  The back yard and pool area on the property is absolutely amazing!!  Being an extensive traveller and former travel agent….I would recommend any traveller to Panama to make Sarah’s your first stop!!”

“What a unique experience and property to vacation at.  A taste of what it is like to live there. The back yard and pool is perfect and so well put together. Sarah is an inviting hostess and so full of knowledge of the area.  She showed us around and joined us for meals and happy hour, introduced us to her friends and set us up for viewing of real estate. Start to! finish this was a great find for a week away. Want to move there now.”

Not Your Typical Tourist – Fair Oaks Ranch, Tx

“My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Casita Toucan, which is just as advertised. It has everything that you could need. We used the kitchen a lot as we enjoyed cooking many of our own meals, we had all the kitchen items that we needed. We did also go out and enjoy some of the local restaurants. The unit has an air conditioner that worked great when we needed it. The grounds are very beautiful and well maintained. The caretaker Vilma is the sweetest person ever! The back yard was by far our favorite place with multiple areas for sitting and relaxing as well as a beautiful pool. The pool has 2 built in benches/table with umbrella which are a great addition. The barbeque area with gazebo is also very nice! We enjoyed getting to know Sarah, her friends and many connections that she has. She is very knowledgeable about Panama and even hooked us up with some of her contacts that specialize in Rental units, as we are looking for a rental to move into in the very near future. We would highly recommend Sarah’s place for your visit to Panama/Coronado area, you will not be disappointed.”

Snowbirds – Vancouver, Canada

“The on-line pictures and reviews of the casita, grounds and the owner, Sarah, were accurate. We stayed at ‘La Gaviota’. The casita made us think of a ‘beachy’ cottage. The casita and property were clean and well maintained. The pool was comfortable and a very welcome relief on hot days. The beach, which was only a few minutes’ walk away, was clean, quiet and really beautiful. Sarah was welcoming and always helpful. She actively ensured we had what we needed during our ~two week stay.
We had originally thought of taking the bus from Panama City to Coronado, but, in the end, as this was our first visit and our Spanish was lacking, we went ahead with Sarah’s recommended driver, Jose. He was very pleasant, met us at the airport and drove us comfortably to Coronado.
We went to Panama open to the possibility of buying a “future retirement place” but not with a self-imposed deadline or a requirement that we had to buy anything at all. We had let Sarah know our thoughts ahead of time. She didn’t push any agenda and gave us our space to search and look around on our own at numerous possibilities in areas from Punta Chame to Pedasi. When we came back from our explorations and asked her advice she was very giving of her knowledge and connections. In the end, with her help, we purchased a property in Coronado and, through the people she knows, we are getting it finished and furnished. We are thrilled with the process and the result. We fell in love with Panama.
We highly recommend staying in one of Sarah’s units and, if you are so inclined, to work with her as your real estate agent. By the way, the weather in Coronado is much dryer than shows on the web….we visited in early July and expected thundershowers every day according to the weather reports. We had rain for one half day out of 12.”

One Happy Solo Women Traveller! – Toronto, Ontario, Canada

‘I spent 7 beautiful days at Sarah’s Casita and 3 days at the glorious condo on the golf course. The Casita was cozy, has everything you need and the staff are available to assist you. I felt safe in the neighbourhood, surrounded by million dollar homes along the beach. Friendly Panamanian’s, Canadian and American expats are plentiful within the gated community. I highly recommend Sarah as she knows Panama like the back of her hand and will go over and above to make your stay comfortable. Her Casita is quiet and has a beautiful pool and professional landscaping. Her Condo offers luxury beyond words. My little adventure was the best one I’ve had so far!”

Brett – Richmond, VA USA

“In a word, excellent! The property here in this residential neighborhood is absolutely beautiful. The casitas are spacious and very comfortable. Kitchens are well equipped too which presents excellent opportunity to cook or grill your own meals. The pool area is a gorgeous and relaxing atmosphere to cool off in this tropical climate. Sarah (owner) and her family (staff, Vilma and Luis) are fantastic people. They have all been very welcoming and nothing short of helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We are very pleased to have found this place, and would not hesitate to recommend a stay here to anyone we know.”

snabound4tropics – Texas

“My husband and I stayed at Sarah’s place the week of May 5th and had a great time! The new pool is perfect. The gardens are beautiful and attract several beautiful birds. The property has everything you need for a week of exploring Coronado and surrounding areas. There are great areas for socializing or being separate from others, whatever suits. We liked having the social aspect so we could learn about the area and what others have experienced.

We ended up in Casa Grande after some shuffling around due to a full booking. We originally booked one of the casitas and would have been happy either way. We had lots of room in Casa Grande that we did not need. This is not a fancy all-inclusive resort, it is a wonderful little corner of paradise and it is what you make of it. The beach is a walkable distance and is really interesting with the mixed sand colors, rocks and mountain views. The beach is not busy.

Sarah is a wealth of information and introduced us to the local fun places where expats gather. We met some really cool and friendly folks there. Every place she recommend we eat or go was great. You can go out for meals or explore the local markets to make your own meals in your casita. The area has plenty of access to shopping, restaurants, etc and everyone was really patient with those of us still learning Spanish.

We’ll be back to Sarah’s place when we are able to return to Panama. Thank you Sarah!”

“I stayed here with my wife and two young children from May 1st to May 3rd and we could not be happier. We wanted to spend a few days outside of the city and enjoy the beaches of Coronado, but once we arrived any thought of going to the beach faded away.

Sarah’s casitas are well laid out with a large bed, flat screen tv, cable, split a/c (not that you’ll need it). We had a full kitchen complete with a large refrigerator and freezer, stove, oven, microwave, and pantry.

The ground of the property are manicured beautifully. When you walk through the covered walk way the back yard opens up into a breathtaking oasis. The first thing that catches your eye is the deliciously looking swimming pool, equipped with waterfall and two large umbrellas in case the mid day sun gets to be a bit much. Every where you look there are different types of blooming flowers lining the patio, the fence line, and surrounding the pool area. We even saw a few hummingbirds feeding from some of the hibiscus flowers. I almost forgot to mention the hammocks that swallowed me for a couple afternoon siestas.

Even after all of this the absolute delight of our stay was Sarah herself, her level hospitality is something everybody should strive to achieve. Sarah made us feel like old friends from the moment we entered and we knew this was our home for the next few days. Sarah knew when to give us our space and when to start a conversation. She was a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding areas and was able to offer us some advice on the local restaurants.

We will 100% be coming back and you should not hesitate to book this place as soon as possible!”

“My husband and I just spent 4 weeks at a great casita in Coronado, Panama. Our “Casa Tortuga” was clean, bright and had everything we needed. The property is large and full of many different tropical trees, plants and colourful flowers. The pool is big, very inviting and we spent many an afternoon lazing around on rafts and noodles…ha ha.
The beach is a short walk with easy public access and you can walk in either direction forever. (also very quiet so if you’re looking for “action”, maybe not the place for you)
Coronado itself is a small, very friendly community. Many expats gather at the local pub, Picasso’s, on Wed. for Happy Hour and again on Sat. for live music. The place is packed and we met many helpful people.
Grocery shopping is not an issue even if you don’t have a car. For .35 cents you can catch a shuttle one way or a cab will set you back maybe $3. We were fortunate enough to rent a golf cart and had a blast zipping around with it. (and you can park that sucker anywhere!)
I can’t comment on tours or restaurants as we stuck to home pretty much, but that was simply our choice. There are many restaurants that each have their specialty, all within walking distance.
I must admit the absolute BEST aspect of our stay was our hostess, Sarah. (sorry, kiddo, I can’t say enough about you!) She helped set me up with my laptop as well as programming phone cards into the cell phones she provides with each casita. (I am not technically inclined) Always eager to help and answer questions. Her guests come first and she is more than accommodating. Sarah is a very busy woman and yet she took the time to show us various properties for sale for our future retirement someday. (very enlightening I must say) I was able to putter around her gardens, plant some herbs, and my husband did the odd “manly” job around her house. She also set him up with a golf membership for the month as that is his passion. We were also able to share several meals with Sarah and it was nice to see her relax once in a while. This may sound corny, but I believe we have made a friend for life!
The other guests were the perfect topper to our month. The huge table under the covered patio provided the perfect setting for us to gather for meals, or even our own little happy Hour. Pot-lucks were very popular as everyone had something different to bring to the table and share. If that isn’t your thing…no feelings are hurt.
Love you, Sarita!”

“Sarah is the most hospitable host I’ve ever met in my extensive travels! From the impeccably clean condo, to availability of a golf cart or car rental, passes to the beach club and tons of tips and advice on where to go and what to see!  The condo itself has an amazing roof top hot tub, and a view that takes your breath away! Day trips are easily done from here to an Artisan mountain town, drinks at a beach bar, or even a nearby mall/movie theatre!  There are a few good restaurant choices close by, or great grocery stores to stock up and cook your own.  Golfers would love being in the middle of the course.  Definitely recommend for a couple that wants a quiet, relaxing vacation!”

“My wife and I came to Coronado in late June of 2014 and had the pleasure of renting this condominium from Sarah. The condo itself was better than the photos show with a stunning view from the balcony overlooking the golf course, the Coronado community and the ocean beaches. The place was perfectly clean and very comfortable with everything that we might have needed during our stay.

Sarah (the owner) was incredibly helpful in getting us to Coronado from the airport by pointing us to a wonderful and helpful driver by the name of Jose. Once we were in Coronado Sarah made herself available to take us around to view homes that were available for sale and gave us many insights into life in Coronado. Renting her condo also gave me access to golfing at the Coronado Golf & Beach Resort.

We would highly recommend both this condo and Sarah as the owner of other properties. When you are going somewhere that you don’t know anyone, Sarah is a great person to have helping you.”

“To gush or not to gush, there is no question/option! I feel totally stymied to be able to write one of my usual acerbic, candid reports. I feel that creative writer’s straight jacket bondage situation happening where I have no route to compel my pen along except that innocuous Gush Trail. Oh well…. From the moment we arrived until the moment we were hugged back into our car to leave, we felt all wrapped up in that one-in-a-million type of friends you never knew you knew. I can’t think of one thing Sarah could have done or done better to make our inaugural voyage to Panama more effortless. I’m not kidding (and believe me it is almost painful for me to have to gush instead of bristle and burble about at least one annoyance), it was too good to be true! The condo was crazy delicious, the area it is situated in is Shangrilaic, the perks that come with the rental are heady (tower amenities, golf, beach & equestrian club pass) and, seriously, just driving in the area with the sumptuous homes and luxuriant gardens made going to the grocery store a euphoric experience. The whole venture made me a nicer person –and that stunned my husband of 4 decades into a state of baffled bewilderment for a whole week. We travel a lot and this was by far one of the most fluid adventures to date. Thanks to Sarah I have become “that” yakkety-yak prattle of positivity I had no idea was anywhere in my DNA.”

Hi Sarah,

We wanted to thank you again for making our stay in Coronado so pleasurable and productive. Your condo in the Coronado Golf Resort was exactly as the pictures described. The views were stunning and the ease of access to the golf course, beach, club house, social events and grocery store could not have been better! Watching the sun come up over the ocean in the morning with a fresh cup of coffee on the balcony is what dreams are made of, and the same went for the evenings on the balcony with wine and dinner as the sun went down. It certainly was the deciding factor to purchase a condo of our own in the same building.

We really enjoyed visiting with you and your guest staying at the Casitas. What a fun bunch of people they were! It was reminiscent of gatherings back home at the local coffee shop, only with wine. :-)

We also wanted to thank you for showing us the areas and your personal recommendations for real estate options. We are so excited about the excellent investment we made, and cannot wait to get back to Panama and stay in our new home.

Also, thank you again for the great referrals, it literally saved us thousands and everyone you recommended were excellent to work with. We have already referred you as well as your referrals to others who are contemplating a trip to Panama.

Best regards,
Sandy & Manny

“If you have never seen the sunrise from the 28th floor of anywhere, treat yourself to this spectacular event.  Having had a disappointment upon our arrival in Panama we got in touch with Sarah who very quickly ( within half an hour) let us know that she had a spot for us in Coronado Golf at the top of the world.  She had also arranged for a driver to pick us up and deliver us to her place.  Upon arrival we took care of paper work and went directly to the unit.  The layout is lovely and spacious and well equipped.  In need of some form of transportation, Sarah also introduced us to a gentleman who would rent us a golf cart for the week.  Although you can’t go any long distances, it is a great way to get into town for groceries and to Picasso for great pizza.  Thanks so much Sarah.  We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Coronado, the get together on Wednesday evening at Picasso, the roof top cocktail party on Thursday and all the other fun.”

Rhonda & Dave – Florida, USA

This is our third trip to Panama,  since deciding after the first trip that we wanted to eventually make Panama our home. The second trip was really boots on the ground searching various areas and properties and we ulitimately decided on Coronado itself. This, our third was the best. For starters, Sarah is the friendliest “Canamanian” (or Pana madian?) we have met yet. Her insights are valuable and service impeccable. From the moment we emailed about availability (she responded within about 4 minutes!) to the flexible service offered for payment, transportation logistics, personal check-in and a friendly glass of wine together was all good! As we understood, we were only the second guests to stay in this BEAUTIFUL condo since it is brand new, and, we received a very generous last minute rate (sorry Sarah if all the readers want a better deal now! :). The complex is gorgeous with common social areas the best we’ve seen in Panama. Pools, views, neighbour parties every Thursday on the rooftop etc.  Plus the condo had a jacuzzi in the master bath… heaven! Sarah could only accommodate us for a short time since other guests were arriving, so we were then whisked off to her rental casita on her private property a few blocks away, for another totally different experience and we did New Years Eve like never before! Not only that, but Sarah has helped us find our dream home to purchase and we’ve put an offer in. So exciting! Talk about one stop shopping. I am rambling on now, but please don’t  hesitate to contact me for more info. Happy New Year Sarah!!! :)  Rhonda and Dave
