Good Neighborhood Location and What A View!

My wife and I rented a Panama City apartment from Sarah Booth within the Bella Vista area
and were extremely satisfied with the unit and the neighborhood. Everything was conveniently located nearby (supermarket, restaurants, banks, etc. along with a very lovely, landscaped pedestrian boulevard along the bay) all within easy walking distance. The condo is modern and spacious with windows in every room letting in an abundance of natural light that also offers great views of the ocean (1/3 of a mile away) and the Panama Canal zone. This is a 2 bedroom/2 bath unit with a fully equipped kitchen, large living/dining room, a laundry room with a washer/dryer and a laundry sink, plus a large entryway.
The unit is air-conditioned however with excellent cross-breezes we almost never used it. In two years of travel through Latin America this is one of the most comfortable places we have stayed. A great value for the rent we paid and we will return to rent when again visiting Panama City. A quick mention about Panama Sarah’s service – emails answered promptly, we enjoyed a social visit from Sarah shortly after arrival, and she recommended her wonderful and professional dentist for some rather complicated procedures. Sarah was a pleasure to deal with from start, during and finish.

Hope you are doing well. My holiday is over and I am back in NYC. I just wanted to tell you what a wonderful time I recently had staying at Bahia Balboa!!! How amazing to wake up every morning with beautiful views of the Bahia de Panama!!! The apartment is great and the staff is very helpful. Everything you need is at your doorstep, from first class shopping, restaurants, you name it! Jose is a pleasure to know. What a great asset he is to represent you in Panama City.

If anyone is planning a holiday to Panama, and is even considering staying at a hotel, make the right choice and stay at one of Sarah’s properties instead. I felt right at home at Bahia Balboa and you will too!

Thank you again Sarah for a wonderful holiday!

This was our first deviation from a hotel stay and we are hooked on owner direct rentals. The service you provided from answering the many questions when we reserved, to the personal check in and advice on where to go, where to eat in Panama City was amazing.

Thank you for referring “your driver”, Jose was a fantastic resource, and very nice. We will be back, and we’re telling all our friends to email you when travelling to Panama. Please feel free to use this testimonial on your website.

This was our first visit to Panama and also the first time that we booked a property through VRBO instead of reserving a room or suite at a conventional resort or hotel. Although we had done extensive research about this destination and also had been recommended to VRBO by a Client of our agency who is an avid world traveler and has been using this website and booking through them for years, we were still apprehensive and venturing into unknown territory.

Since the service in American Airlines and other US airlines has deteriorated so much, we also decided to fly on COPA, Panama’s airline. We could not be more surprised and pleased! It was a 3 hour direct flight from Miami and believe it or not, the service was superb! They allow 2 large suitcases per person at no charge (instead of 1). They also feed you a full meal (either breakfast, lunch or dinner), offer complimentary cocktails, beer or wine, free earphones, free blankets & free pillows and to top this off the aircrafts are practically new and extra clean. What a difference!

We selected this high-rise condo in Panama City for the first 5 nights of our vacation. After exploring the capital and surrounding areas, we drove 5 hours along the Pacific Coast and stayed 3 nights at the Ocean Lofts, a gated beach-front community on Playa Destiladeros in the Azueros Peninsula. The review for this beautiful 2-story Villa (also positive) can be found on their listing in VRBO.

When we arrived at the Tocumen International Airport in Panama City it did take a long time to go through immigration and customs so we were worried that Jose (the condo’s Property Manager) might not still be there when we finally got outside with our luggage (appx 1-1/2 hours after our flight landed), but of course he was : )

Jose is bilingual in English / Spanish, very professional, courteous, friendly and also very accomodating! He was even willing to stop at the Supermarket on the way to the apartment so we could get some basic foods and beverages to stock the kitchen with. When we arrived at the apartment he did not just help us with with our luggage, hand us the key and leave. He took the time to accompany us up to the apartment and gave us a complete tour of the interior. He also showed us how to operate everything (sign-on of PC, connection to Internet, microwave, gas stove & oven, a/c remote control, TV remote, how to find all English channels, cell phone, etc.)

The apartment we rented from Owner Panama Sarah at the Posada Del Rey Condominium in Punta Paitilla is fantastic and exactly what we wanted and needed! She has done a great job on the remodeling, decor, linens, towels, cleanliness and has also stocked the kitchen with everything a person might need. Although the building is one of Paitilla’s older properties, it is well maintained, clean, lit, with a locked lobby and also a security guard on duty 24 hours. The fact that it also includes internet, a computer, printer and the use of a local cell phone is an awesome value and much more comfortable than staying in a hotel room!

The 1st floor of the building has businesses, so the lobby is elevated and equivalent to 2nd floor level. Above it there are 3 levels of garage before the 1st floor apartments; so this 17th floor apartment is actually at the height of a 22nd floor! Its spacious balcony offered us breath-taking views of Panama City’s bay, Cerro Ancon, the impressive city sky line with all the ultra modern sky scrapers on Avenida Balboa and behind it in the international banking area, the new Cinta Costera (bayfront park) and most of the other high-rise and sky-scraper condominiums in Punta Paitilla! We started each day with coffee at the bistro table on the balcony, had cocktails watching the sun set on the balcony before going out to a late dinner and also ended each night enjoying a night cap on the balcony before going to sleep.

After spending an entire day touring all the upscale tourist / business hotels and resorts as well as upscale residential neighborhoods in Panama City, we both agreed that Punta Paitlla is the absolute best area to stay when visiting Panama City (whether for business or pleasure).

Everything we read and researched about Panama was more than true (including their wonderful citizens who make all foreigners feel so welcome)! We plan to go back as soon as possible and as often as possible. We will only fly on COPA and when staying in Panama City we will only stay at one of the two apartments that Panama Sarah owns in Punta Paitilla.

Last but not least, we are also in love with VRBO, will be using this great service from now on and will book all our accomodations through them regardless where we are travelling.

Sarah,

The apartment is great! I had a truly wonderful stay. The location was amazing because it is centrally located in regards to Panama City hotspots and being so close to avenida balboa provides outstanding ease of access to both the corredors and essentially anywhere and everywhere that is of interest.

The view the apartment has is truly spectacular and the building itself is quiet and relaxing. Jose was also great at helping to get me situated when I arrived. Thanks for everything!

You may not recall us, we are a couple of Aussie, we were in Panama City last week. Jose, collected us from the airport and then to the apartment.

The apartment was great thanks and Jose was a delightful person, he was always available to us and was helpful, we knew he was more expensive than just getting a taxi from the street but he was always there for us when needed, so he was appreciated and hopefully you will pass on our thanks and regards to him.

Have a great 2010

Dear Sarah

The apartment is wonderful, everything we could possibly need is here! We did go to Super 99, RebaSmith, and MegaDepot. Today we went to Albrook Mall, only got lost about 20 times. Ken bought a spanish to english hand held computer today, so that should help us out quite a bit. :<)

We are having cocktails now, and the doors to the balcony are open…nice breeze….Love it here!!

Dear Sarah,

I wanted to convey to you what a wonderful job you are doing with your rentals. I emailed 10 different people, and not only was yours the first response, but the most professional and friendly and covered all the questions. Your attention to detail is appreciated. When we arrived, even more impressive was your property.

I realize you have just done a big renovation and how much work that must have been. The addition of the balcony was a great idea, that’s where we spent all our time. Also nice to have new beds, linens and a tv in the bedroom.

We slept soundly, had no troubles getting around as everything was within walking distance, and as well, appreciated the services of Jose. What a gem!

We’ll be back and will tell our associates about you!

By the way.. Happy 40th!!

Sarah, thank you for the bottle of wine, it was very thougtful.

Joyce and I really enjoyed our stay at your condo. We sat out on the balcony every evening and looked at the bay. The condo was very convenient to everything. The receptionist was also very helpful to us. If we come back anytime soon we would like to stay at the condo again.

We would like to give a gift to Jose’ to show him how much we appreciated his hospitality and consideration for us while we were in Panama. We would appreciate if you could have him send an E-mail to us.

Thanking you for everything,

Hi Sarah,

I wanted to write as soon as I got home but got too busy. I want to thank you for the rentals, specially the Posada, we really liked it and had a great time there. Thanks so much for working with me on the scheduling and the prices, especially with all my last minute changes.

I also enjoyed meeting you in person! It’s so much nicer to put a face to an e-mail address! I’m glad we had that chance in the middle of your busy day.

I hope you are enjoying yourself at the beach. I look forward to my next trip to Panama so we can rent from you again.

Dear Sarah, I would like to thank you for the great place we were able to book through you in our stay in Panama. We had such a great time and this was just the beginning of multiple trips that we’ll have from now on.

I strongly believe on customer retention philosophy and we look forward to stay in close contact with you and Jose for our next visits. In fact we are planning our next trip and soon we’ll get in touch with you.

Casa Bonanza was just perfect for everything we did and we needed thanks again for everything.

Follows is the flood of memories produced from my recent stay in Panama Sarah’s condo in Panama City — a two bedroom condo tastefully decorated, beautifully furnished (thanks Sarah, for not letting the furniture get crappy, keeping it new, attractive, high-end, expensive — do you buy new furniture from time to time?). Inside and out, what a great condo with spectacular views of the City, harbor and canal from the 14th floor, high and free from the traffic noise.

I regret that I ever decided to stop living in the Hispanic world where I had spent nine of the happiest years of my life (Spain 6, México 3). I have an immense shared love with Hispanic people, started 40 years ago when I decided in the university to become fluent in Spanish. Just in case you are not fluent in Spanish and feel “spooky about the Hispanic world,” once you establish contact with Sarah/José via email and/or cell a “real person-to-person” relationship develops in Panama City with the Sarah/Jose team.

Sarah is a Canadian. Jose a super Panameño who speaks great English. These two compadres are pleasant, honest and may I add a pleasure to be with –- especially if they invite you to a four-hour Hispanic lunch in any one of the incredible restaurants in the City, having pricing right out of the 1980s, rarely do meals come to more that $25-$40 per person, including wine. José, a handsome/guapo panameño/Panamanian, with his comfortable air-conditioned car and his super hispanic persona, will meet any of your transportation, guiding and tourist needs in the city. He’ll share with you his knowledge and love for Panama. ¡Qué país! ¡Viva Panamá!

More on Sarah: Just in case you’d like a little more comfort and confidence in dealing with a private rental owner, below is the first email I sent her upon my return: “That was the greatest of afternoon’s lunches with you and José. You are a super Lady. I like everything about you. I hope my 15 year old daughter comes out with half of what you’ve got. What an intelligent, attractive person and businesswoman, one who has it together AND knows how to enjoy living al stylo hispano. I’ve finally awaken again to know that I can’t live any longer here in Gringolandia. I’m moving to Panamá as soon as I can make the arrangements.”

Thanks again for making my stay so pleasant with your condo serving as a beautiful and comfortable base to make my explorations of el mundo panameño. I look forward to seeing you and José again soon, staying once again at La Bonanza or any other rental you have.

My friend and I stayed in this lovely 2-bedroom apartment for 10 days. It had everything we needed, including a nice kitchen so we could cook when we wanted, and a washer/dryer combo, which allowed us to pack light.

We walked everywhere from this great location, evn though cabs are inexpensive. Easy access to some great restaurants, whether you head toward El Cangrejo or Obarrio, or go out along the bay toward multicentro.

Best of all, for two people to share the rental cost gives a great bargain, much homier than staying in a hotel and having to go out for every meal. The apartment is loaded with amenities which make it a great deal. Two separate bedrooms and baths make it doubly nice.

Sarah:

Just a note to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay at Bonanza. The condo was very neat, modern and the view was gorgeous.

We loved Jose. He is very personable and friendly as well as very knowledgeable about the different areas in Panama. We occaisionally used other taxi drivers and compared to them — he is a blessing to have. He helped us with Spanish as neither Bob or I speak Spanish very well. he was very patient with us and was always available when we needed him.

Thanks again for allowing us to spend time in your apartment. We will keep you in mind when we travel to Panama in the future!
